There is an urgent need for research in the area of pain management. Since the 1890s, when aspirin and heroin were discovered, there has been agonizingly little progress in this field.

There are so many chemicals accused of causing human cancers that it's a wonder that any of us are still breathing. Yet, we are. In fact, since 1975 rates of most cancers have been either steady or slowly declining (Figure 1).

It took me the usual three minutes to come up with these. Either 1) I'm really fast or 2) there is so much craziness out there that a stoned marmoset could have done the same job, and maybe in two minutes. I'd go with #2.
